37bc8944c3We provide light and electron microscopy, imaging services, and micro-computed tomography for teaching and research across the NDSU campus and beyond.

We will be pleased to meet with you to discuss your research imaging and analysis needs, and can provide a detailed estimate to facilitate your planning.  High-quality scientific images for inclusion in grant proposals will be prepared at no charge.  Otherwise, to help defray the cost of equipment, supplies, service contracts, and salaries not covered by NDSU, we operate on a for-fee basis.

Our microscopy services include fixation, dehydration, infiltration, embedding, ultrathin sectioning, staining, critical-point drying, and evaporative and sputter coating for electron microscopy; light microscopy assistance; and complete image acquisition and processing including preparation of journal figures.  MicroCT enables versatile detailed nondestructiveanalysis of nonliving specimens, available nowhere else in the region.

Groups and individuals of all ages are welcome to visit the laboratory; we will be happy to tailor a tour for you.  Please call or e-mail us to schedule.

We provide remote use of the JEOL JSM-6490LV scanning electron microscope from your classroom!  This outreach is free for educators.  Contact us for assistance.
